Advanced high school science (primarily biology and chemistry) students have the opportunity to visit Lilly Research Laboratories each school year to learn about the drug discovery and development process and to interact with professionals in science-related careers in a way that provides the students an opportunity to ask questions and explore what a career in science might mean for them. The students are presented with an overview of the drug discovery and development process followed by a tour of Lilly Research Laboratories. Lastly, the students participate in a career opportunities question and answer session over lunch with scientific professionals. Note: It is highly recommended to submit your reservation in advance as spaces fill up quickly.
Project SEED (Summer Experience for the Economically Disadvantaged)
Sponsored by the American Chemical Society, Project SEED offers economically disadvantaged students a chance to explore their interest in science by actively participating in laboratory research under the guidance of a "real scientist" mentor. In addition to financial support for Project SEED, Lilly scientist also serve as student hosts/mentors. For more specific information see.

Science Fairs
Lilly volunteers are available on a limited basis to judge science fairs in central Indiana from elementary levels through high school. Lilly supports the Science Education Foundation of Indiana (SEFI), the organization that plans, promotes, and produces the state science fair.
Note: Volunteers for this program are in high demand and, therefore, requests for support should be initiated well in advance of the event.
