Science Programs
    Chemistry is a Blast!
Chemistry is a Blast! Chemical professionals from Lilly Research Laboratories travel to schools, camps and other events in central Indiana to demonstrate the wonders of chemistry through exciting and dramatic chemical demonstrations. The presenters emphasize simple chemical principles, safety, and the scientific method as students observe and participate in the demonstrations. A fall highlight is a week of “Chemistry is a Blast!” at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis during National Chemistry Week.
    Scientific Research Explorer Post
Teachers from area high schools recommend some 50 juniors and seniors to participate in this coeducational program, affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. A senior scientist briefly discusses a research target and the type of experimentation and technology that is used in the laboratory to achieve their objectives. Then, small groups of students often visit different areas of a host's laboratory where they learn about experiments and specialized instruments under the scientists' guidance.
    Lilly K-8 Hands-on Science Activities
Lilly volunteers are available to visit elementary and middle school classrooms in the Indianapolis and Greenfield area with science demonstrations and experiments that fit your curriculum and are linked to the Indiana Science Standards.
